FAQs

When you enter the doors at Imago Dei Pilates studio, please remove your shoes and place your belongings in an entryway cubbie.

Once the previous class has ended, feel free to enter the studio space and choose your reformer. Place your water bottle within reach, and turn on a fan if you’d like!

The instructor will come around to greet you and get you checked in. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask! We are excited to meet you and make you as comfortable as possible.

The instructor will guide you and the class through the one hour session. Expect a mix of explanation, movement, and personalized attention throughout the class time.

Wear comfortable, form-fitting clothing you can move in- think leggings, a tank or tee, and socks (required for safety and hygiene). Grip socks are available for sale offering extra stability & safety. Avoid anything too loose, as instructors need to see your form, and items could get stuck in the Reformer.

Just bring yourself and a water bottle! We provide all the equipment you’ll need. Also see, “What should I wear to class?” above.

We recommend starting with the Beginner Class Series. It’s the best way to learn the fundamentals, basic movements, and get comfortable with the equipment.

All classes can be booked online or through the Mind Body Pilates app.

We ask that you cancel no later than 48 hours before your scheduled class to avoid a late cancel fee. This allows us to offer the spot to someone on the waitlist.

There will be 6 people total in our group classes. This allows us to give everyone the attention they deserve.

Unlike other exercises, there is no limit to how often you can do pilates.

Joseph Pilates would say, “after 10 sessions, you’ll feel a difference, after 20 sessions, you’ll see a difference, and after 30 sessions, you’ll have a new body.”

For best results, we recommend 2-3 times per week. But even one class a week can be beneficial- it’s about consistency and what works for your schedule.

Everyone! Pilates is low-impact and highly adaptable, making it great for all ages, fitness levels, and body types.

Always consult with your doctor first. Once cleared, Pilates can be a great tool for rehab and building strength. We recommend notifying your instructor of any conditions prior to your session.

Mat Pilates uses only a mat and your body weight for resistance, while Reformer Pilates uses spring-based resistance machines.
